Be Smart in the Dark

8 11 2011

We’ve just set our clocks back, which means it’s getting darker earlier. Although you should always be alert and use safety precautions when you run, it’s even more important in the dark.

Picking a well-lit route can definitely help keep you safe when running in the dark. Make sure you run against traffic and choose roads that have bike lanes or sidewalks. Keep ID on you, whether it’s your license or a RoadID. You should also consider reflective clothing or accessories. We stock a number of items to help make you more visible from lights to vests and arm warmers.

Lastly, run with a group or buddy if you can. As the saying goes, there’s safety in numbers.

May you run like the wind–

Eric
