Unveiled this morning at the public library were the three proposed master plans for the renovation of Shelby Farms.
For many of the Memphis area, this is a beloved park. Some regard it even as a sacred area — a quiet place of respite in the center of cemented city.
There have been many meetings looking for input from the citizens of the area, and the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy (which grew out of a handful of Shelby Farms advocacy groups) chose three development firms to produce plans for the area. Those three have created successful park areas in other parts of the country, and, with the input received from the public forums here, they have come up with these plans.
The plans may be view at the library. They are on display on a huge scale there.
They may also be viewed here: Front | Shelby Farms Park Conservancy
Please spend some time viewing the proposed plans and providing your feedback to the conservancy. This is your (our) opportunity to contribute to the future of our park.
